During the Spring 2019 semester, I contacted many people who used to work at Black Rep in the hopes of conducting in-person interviews in order to gain a clearer view of what life was like for the Black Rep and the people involved. Finding interviewees proved difficult – contact information was not always reliable, some correspondences didn’t prove fruitful. Nevertheless, I was able to conduct fantastic interviews with six former associates of Black Rep, including the founding member Don King.

Donald King – Founder, Artistic Director

Michaelle Saintil – Assistant to the Director

Micah Salkind – Director of Public Programs

Megan Sandberg-Zakian – Associate Artistic Director

Daryl Jett – Facilities Manager

Jackie Davis – Actor
